How big is the Internet of Things (IoT)? The IoT refers to the connection of devices to the Internet such as cars, kitchen appliances, and even heart monitors.It will continue its growth in the next few years and many more devices will join that list. Now, there are about 28 billions of IoT that is connected and statistics shows 50 billions of devices will be connected in 2020. Some experts predicted trillions.

This statistic shows the number of connected devices (Internet of Things; IoT) worldwide from 2012 and 2020. In 2012, the number of connected devices worldwide reached 8.7 billion. It show significant growth and the growth connects with various industries. The Internet of Things is currently active in a few sectors with some examples below,

The Internet of Things will be the ultimate key to smarter living. By 2020, there will be tens of billions of data-spouting devices connected to the Internet and it will definitely bring efficiency and productivity of our live and work. Looking at it’s consistent growth, the Internet of Things will be pervasive and the question is, how ready are we for it, for a world that is transparent, dynamic, automated and unified.
