Building 8(B8) at Facebook is a team focused on building new hardware products to advance their mission of connecting the world. The team create projects that drives innovation in augmented and virtual reality, artificial intelligence, connectivity and other important breakthrough areas. By the lead of Regina Dugan who was the lead of Advanced Technology and Projects group at Google and the Director of DARPA (Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency – DARPA). The B8 teams move fast, with aggressive and fixed timelines. They extensively create and leverage partnerships with universities, small and large businesses, and set clear objectives for shipping products at scale. In April 2016, Mark shared in his page said that they will be investing hundreds of people and hundreds of millions of dollars into this effort over the next few years. In the same note announced that their 10 year roadmap will be focusing in augmented and virtual reality, artificial intelligence, connectivity and other important areas.
